April 10 - Cliff Lount Lecture
(on 17/10/03 by Richard Morrell - Reports Meetings)
Introducing Cliff Lount, Eddie Dawes said that the last visit was held in the old room in the Central Library. Eddie first met Cliff in Glasgow attending the Scottish Association of Magical Societies. Cliff had started in magic in 1949, and became involved as a dealer starting with the Magical Exchange Service.

Cliff gave us a fascinating insight into his life as a dealer, interspersed with demonstrating some of his magical effects. Cliff’s tales of the shop on Blackpool pier at high tide, and the Card on Ceiling at Blackpool Circus were just some of the highlights.

Cliff Lount says he is careful to only sell items for which he has authority, and told us that his charges are some of the lowest in the land. He claims not to market rip-offs of tricks.

Eddie Dawes thanked Cliff for his talk and demonstrations from his extensive repertoire, interspersed with many anecdotes.
